First, you need to update the VSSDK build kit via the NuGet package manager toThe latest version, then the ProductArchitecture tag specifying arm64 needs to be added to the VSIX manifest. Finally, you need to set your target CPU architecture: you can choose your build target to be AnyCPU, or you can choose Arm64 if you want to release an Arm64-specific extension.Microsoft shares more information about the process here.
Microsoft also noted in its official blog post that developers will be able to publish their Arm64 and AMD64 version of the extension. But the way you upload and publish extensions remains the same.If you want to upload your Arm64 extension to an existing extension entry, you need to follow these steps:
1. Go to the Manage Publishers and Extensions page and click Edit.
2. Upload a new payload. You also need to make sure the payload has the same extension identifier, version and different target platforms.
3. You can now click upload and save.
